CIPPM is proud to announce four new appointments for January 2011 |
Dr Dinusha Mendis as Senior Lecturer, Dr Andra Tosato as Lecturer, and Dr Christian Handke and Dr Marcella Favale as Visiting Research Fellows.
Dr Dinusha Mendis, an expert in digital copyright law, joins us as Senior Lecturer from the University of Central Lancashire in Preston and the AHRC Research Centre for Studies in Intellectual Property & IT at the University of Edinburgh. Born in Sri Lanka, Dinusha holds a LLB from the University of Aberdeen, and LLM and PhD (2007) from the University of Edinburgh. Dinusha qualified for the Bar of England & Wales in 2001 and is a member of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple Inn, London.
Dr Andrea Tosato has written extensively on the securitisation of intellectual property, research he conducted for an LLM at the University of Cambridge and his PhD at the University of Pavia. Andrea adds much needed expertise in finance and EU law to our research centre. Andrea is also a member of the Italian Delegation to theUnited Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL Working Group VI).

Dr Christian Handke, an up-and-coming cultural economist, is currently Assistant Professor of Cultural Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam. He defended his PhD “The Creative Destruction of Copyright” in 2010, and has contributed to a number of CIPPM projects, working closely with Prof. Ruth Towse.
