£50 per delegate (includes lunch and notes).

A 3rd International Interdisciplinary Workshop sponsored by The UK Centre for Legal Education and the Engineering Subject Centre and held in association with the UK Intellectual Property Office.

This interactive workshop will consider the significance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) generated by Intellectual Property (IP) creators: product design through engineering, science and technology disciplines. It will also look at innovative ways that are used to integrate awareness of IPR into the curriculum of courses and explore alternative ways of increasing graduates awareness.

Who is it for?

Anyone looking to introduce IPR concepts to innovators, inventors and designers will find it invaluable. Delegates are also welcome from academia, industry and practice.

The workshop is the third in a series that has produced exciting and fruitful encounters between IP creators and IP protectors: lawyers, attorneys, accountants, business advisers.

Call for Papers

It is ‘hit and miss’ whether UK graduates start their career aware of IPR. Should IPR be part of the curriculum? If yes – how? If no – why not? We invite the submission of papers on the themes referred to above. If you would like to present a paper relevant to this discussion, please contact Norman Stock on +44 (0) 1202 965575.

If you wish to discuss your paper before submission, please email: Prof. Ruth Soetendorp (Associate Director, Centre for Intellectual Property Policy & Management) or Prof. Jim Roach (Dean, School of Design, Engineering and Computing).
