Dr Faye Fangfei Wang is a Lecturer in Law at the Department of Law, Bournemouth University and convenor of the Cyberlaw Section at the Society of Legal Scholars (SLS), UK. Her research interests are: computer law, electronic commerce law, information technology law, intellectual property law (digital IP rights), online dispute resolution, international trade law, commercial law, conflicts of law and private international law. She has been a speaker at a number of international legal conferences and published extensively on IT and IP law, including:

  • Domain Names Management and Legal Protection, International Journal of Information Management, (April 2006) Volume 26, Issue 2, p.116-127;
  • Obstacles and Solutions to Internet Jurisdiction: A comparative analysis of the EU and US laws, Journal of International Commercial Law and Technology, (2008) Vol.3, No.4, p.233-241;
  • E-Confidence: Offer and Acceptance in Online Contracting, International Review of Law, Computers and Technology, (2008) Vol.22, No.3, p.271-278; and a book
  • Online Dispute Resolution (ODR): Technology, Management and Legal Practice from an International Perspective (Oxford: Chandos Publishing Limited, 2008).

Her paper "Obstacles and solutions to Internet Jurisdiction: A Comparative Analysis of the EU and US Laws" won the best academic paper award (2nd runner up) by Elsevier Publication in cooperation with Computer Law and Security Report and the International Association of IT Lawyers at the 2nd International Business, Law and Technology Conference, 17 June 2008, Touro Law Centre, Long Island, New York.
